J.K. Rowling Hints a Patronus Test May Be Coming to Pottermore

When Pottermore was announced, one of its biggest draws was the ability to find out your Hogwarts house. Though interest in the site may have fizzled a little since its initial launch (and now that everyone knows their house), there may be another feature coming soon to bring fans back.

J.K. Rowling has been more active than usual on her Twitter account lately, commenting on Scotland’s independence campaign and replying to fan tweets. However, one question stood out to her as a way to tease things to come at Pottermore:

The Patronus Charm was first introduced in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as a way to battle a Dementor, a creature that sucks the happiness out of humans and leaves them feeling nothing but despair. Harry learned the spell from Remus Lupin, who explained a corporeal Patronus takes the form of an animal based on the personality of the person casting it. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry taught it to members of Dumbledore’s Army, a club created to prepare students for the outside world and also give them practice of spells for their O.W.L. exams.

It is likely the Patronus test will be similar to other tests on Pottermore, like wand and house-sorting, where the taker has to fill out a quiz about their personal preferences and beliefs.

What do you think you Patronus will be?
